Welcome to the fourth edition of TrimTabs (previous editions here). As always, let’s start with the reflection from last time:

The Power of Letting Go

Power isn’t just about influence or control. It comes from the ability to make choices, to trust ourselves, and to set boundaries. And sometimes, it means letting go of what’s holding us back.

That kind of vulnerability can feel like weakness. But, in reality, it’s where growth happens.

Take the hermit crab, a creature that quite literally outgrows its home. It knows it needs to leave the safety of its shell, Dreaming of something bigger.

That moment of transition is when it’s most vulnerable, exposed to predators. But it still takes the leap. It trusts the process, Daring to move forward.

Choosing to change is powerful. And it’s how I found joy in my work and life.

And if we think about my 4D model - we’ve covered Dreaming and Daring so it’s time for Designing and Doing…

I’ve been fortunate enough to speak at a number of amazing events recently. The themes often relate to my corporate marketing ‘success’ and my purposeful pivot towards more conscious and responsible principles.

This inevitably leads me to explore belief systems. And this helps others to question their lives and how they would like to design something new.

But what are beliefs and where do they come from.

I’ve explored this recently with Bournemouth University, Arts University Bournemouth, Dorset COP and client work.

The diagram I’ve created below, allows us to explore the four main types of belief, how they are formed and therefore how they can be challenged.

Thinking, feeling and then doing builds the environment for change.

On the Doing side of things, March is B Corp Month, and I’m loving the work I’m doing with my fellow B Local Co-Chair, Jaimie Harris.

We’ve been creating some brilliant events and having deep conversations with people who are committed to purpose-driven business. The first two events can be found on my sustainability calendar here.
