Hello Subscriber First Name We’ve reached edition 10 and I’ve loved getting here with you! Hitting this milestone has nudged me into a decision to commit to sending these newsletters weekly, landing in your inbox every Tuesday morning. So, let’s begin where we left off: “What would change if I truly believed I was already enough?” What we believe shapes what we see, how we behave and ultimately, how we live. I often explore belief systems in my work with individuals, businesses and through my talks and events. When our beliefs are aligned and nourishing, they offer structure, clarity and possibility. But sometimes, they turn ‘maladaptive’ and become unhelpful patterns that fuel procrastination, amplify our inner critic and crank up our people-pleasing. Self-compassion is essential in building a life we don’t just tolerate, but love. A key part of that is noticing how we speak to ourselves and whether we’d use that same tone with someone we care about. Another is surrounding ourselves with people who reflect back our value, even when we can’t see it ourselves. One of those people, for me, was my grandmother Mary who passed away last week at the age of 104. I wanted to share her passing with you, because she helped shape so much of who I am and her legacy feels deeply connected to the themes we explore here - inner wisdom, letting go, resilience and living from love rather than fear. Mary believed in choosing your own path. She gave me steady, unconditional support especially after my mum died in 1999. For years, she was always more proud of me than I was for myself. And now, I’m trying to internalise that, to meet myself with the same kindness she offered me. Caring for Mary and my grandfather Doug for more than a decade has shaped the way I show up in the world. Looking back, I see more clearly how much I’ve held and how much I’ve still managed to grow. It’s helping me soften the perfectionism, the urgency and embrace the idea that I’ve always been enough, I just needed to slow down long enough to see it. I hope this doesn’t feel too self-indulgent, but rather a reflection you might recognise something of yourself in. So here’s a photo of me with Mary and if you scroll down, we’ll explore how to Design a life shaped by ‘enough’…
